I just got back from Publix. It was a GREAT trip! Yeah! (Even though I had a very grumpy cashier, which I will go into more detail about in the near future.)
Just wanted to give you a couple of updates:
I found the Bear Naked granola! The price at my store was $4.29, AND they all had $1 peelies on them. So here is the deal I did:
Buy 2 Bear Naked Granola at $4.29
Use 1 BOGO coupon
Use (1) $1/1 peelie
Use (2) $1/1 Whole Foods coupons from Whole Deal booklet found in-store
*Pay only $.65 each after coupons!
I looked everywhere for the Nasoya wraps, and couldn’t find them. I don’t think my store carries them. However, my store did have Nasoya Tofu for only $2.99, so here’s what I did:
Nasoya Tofu – $2.99
$1/1 manufacturer coupon
$1/1 Whole Foods coupon
*Pay only $.99 a package! GREAT price!
*I know not all of you will be as excited about this as I am, but these kind of deals make us Vegetarians jump up and down.
Reader Trisha made a good point that even if the Kraft Sandwich Shop Mayo was not BOGO for you, you’ll still be able to get some for FREE simply by stacking coupons. And this will be an ongoing deal until the coupons expire:
Kraft Sandwich Shop Mayo – $1.99
$1/1 manufacturer coupon from 6-13-10 SS
$1/1 Publix coupon from Yellow Advantage Buy Flyer
*FREE when you stack coupons!
Finally, I wanted to bring your attention to a few competitor coupons that are available right now:
- Remember that awesome $10/$40 Whole Foods coupon that many Publix stores will take? Well, it’s back AGAIN this month – in the Jax4Kids magazine, just like last time! It doesn’t expire until the end of July!
- You can go HERE to print a Harvey’s coupon for $2 off of any $6 produce purchase.
- You can go HERE to print a Food Lion coupon for $.50 off of any $3 produce purchase.
Happy Publix’ing!
What About You: How has Publix been treating you lately? I’ve been hearing some interesting stories lately, ones that I never thought I’d hear coming from Publix. I plan on talking about this in a post some time soon.

i came home grumbling about my cashier and the manager… the cashier was a kid who started the transaction by starting to scan a peelie i didn’t take off the pic utility lighter (it was for charcoal which i didn’t have)… i politely told him that i didn’t have charcoal trying to be honest so i didn’t get money off with something i didn’t buy… so then he scans all my groceries and forgets to scan any coupons… i had to remind him.. then he starts scanning and hardly looks at the coupons… well then he comes across the harvey’s coupons (which i’ve used at least one each shopping trip i’ve been on the last 4 or 5 months)… he doesn’t say anything except… “hang on” and runs 3 lanes over to a manager… i see him show them to her, come back, and doesn’t say a word to me… i wait a second and then tell him… ummm they’ve taken the harvey’s coupons every week from me for months… he doesn’t even make eye contact with me but says “i just asked my manager and she said no”… i just looked dumbfounded and waited for him to say anything else… so i told him, “fine, i don’t want those items… it’s not worth buying them without the coupons ($6 worth of harvey’s coupons!)… so he starts digging in my cart for the reynolds wrap etc… i ask to talk to the manager he spoke with and again… without eye contact… says she’s off duty… keep in mind i see her like 3 yards away… i ask again and he goes and gets her… thennnn she says “okay.. we’ll take them this time but we are cracking down on competitors being within a 5 mi radius of our store… that’s only target, winne dixie, and food lion… i told her this was the most strict publix on competitors i’ve ever been to (they don’t take cvs and never have) and she says “supposedly” that all the publix stores are going to be cracking down on this… anyone else getting this? by the way.. this is the oakleaf publix on argyle forest blvd

@Jen, Hey girl. Yep – I had the same exact problem last night. And I have NEVER had problems at my Publix about this. But I talked to a manager, and they said it’s fine. The cashier was just being “grumpy.” But I’ve heard from MANY readers that Publix stores are trying to crack down on competitors. I’m going to do a post on it in the near future. It’s sad to see my favorite grocery store that I love so much and you can save so much money at….start to NOT put customer service first.

@Meagan, Yes Publix is trying to crack down on coupons to prevent scams. However, I think they are telling the cashiers not to take certain coupons, and when the customer complains the manager will most likely take the coupon. It is a Catch 22. Some cashiers are tired of this and just don’t care, others are just trying to do what they are told to.

@Jen,
I just used that same coupon last night and so did my sister. I had no problems except that I tried to use two and he told me that I would have to put separate orders in order to use the other one. I told him that was fine I would come back another day:)
Middleburg, Publix
